Cream of the West makes Kids’ Krunch for Missoula area Kids
Missoula Food Bank & Community Center (MFB&CC) serves Cream of the West’s healthy snack mix to Missoula area kids through a variety of programs. Jamie Kocsondy, Program Manager at MFB&CC, uses federal dollars to fight food insecurity in the Missoula area through a variety of programs.
Kid’s Table provides 500 meals every weekday during the year and over 1000 meals and snacks during the summer. Open Meal Sites, like our mobile meal bus, busses food to kids 18 and under to the lowest income neighborhoods in the Missoula area. Through Summer Camps, MFB&CC provides meals for kids who attend programs through the YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Flagship, and other community partners.
Jamie believes in sourcing local foods for these programs in order to keep the dollars working for Montana. Kid’s Krunch, is a custom blend of Cream of the West's Montana Crunch. Kid's Krunch is nut-free granola that’s custom-made for MFB&CC and sent to MFB&CC in bulk. Volunteers repackage it into snack-size bags that are distributed to Missoula area kids. We’re proud to make a product that meets Jamie’s criteria of healthy, good-tasting food at a reasonable price.
