HONEY WHEAT 7-GRAIN DINNER ROLLS
The perfect addition to a comforting meal. These rolls also make great slider or sandwich buns.
INGREDIENTS
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup water
- ¾ cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain
- 2 packages yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs – divided
- 2 ¼ - 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
Directions
Combine water, honey and butter in a small saucepan and heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat and cool to 120 degrees.
Combine wheat flour, Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain, yeast, and salt in a stand mixer.
Slowly add the warm honey mixture then beat at a low speed for 1 minute.
Add 1 egg. Beat for 2 more minutes at medium speed. Gradually add enough flour for the dough to come together into a ball.
Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. (I like to use the dough hook on my stand mixer and let it do the kneading!)
Divide dough into 24 balls. Place dough balls in a lightly greased 13x9 inch pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place (around 85 degrees) for about an hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
Whisk the other egg then brush the egg over the uncooked rolls.
Sprinkle a little Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain on top.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool slightly and brush with melted butter.
