Whole roasted oats
Whole oats, roasted, what more needs to be said. They make the best oatmeal. Yes you have to cook them a little longer but it is so worth it. When some of our apples start to get a bit soft and we don't want to eat them plain, my son dices them and bakes them at a low temp in the oven to dry them out. The slow, long roasting also adds a wonderful flavor to the apples. I cook these in the oatmeal along with some cinnamon which makes the oatmeal delicious.
