7-GRAIN COWBOY BISCUITS

These 7-Grain biscuits are the perfect addition to biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash or chicken noodle soup. Hearty, delicious and full of wonderful whole grains.

 7-GRAIN COWBOY BISCUITS submitted by Amber Nordahl Molt, Montana  INGREDIENTS: ¼ cup Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain 1/3 cup boiling water  1 ½ cup white flour ½ cup whole wheat flour 1 Tbsp baking powder ¼ cup canola oil ½ cup milk  DIRECTIONS  Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Pour Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain into boiling water, stir and set aside.  Combine remaining ingredients and stir with a fork. Add Cream of the West Roasted 7-Grain mixture and stir until mixture comes into a ball.  Put mixture on floured surface and pat with hands until ½” thick. Cut with biscuit cutter and place on ungreased baking sheet. Alternatively scoop 1/3 cup of dough and drop onto baking sheet for drop biscuits.  Bake 10 minutes.
