Green Chili & Cheddar Grits
Green Chili & Cheddar Grits are the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Gruff ancient grain Farro grits are grown on northern Montana family farms and the texture and flavor is out of this world!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups Gruff ancient grain organic Grits
- 2 1/2 cups Water
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tbsp Taco seasoning (cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder & oregano)
- 1/4 tsp. each Salt & Pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 small can mild green chilies
- 1/2 cup juice from a jar of mild jalapenos
- 1/2 cup finely chopped roasted red peppers (drained, if from a jar)
- 2 bunches sliced fresh green onions
Garnish suggestions: fresh lime juice, avaocado slices, fresh cherry tomatoes, jalapeno slices, cilantro, sour cream.
DIRECTIONS
Prepare Grits according to package directions.
After they have rested for the final five minutes, stir in all ingredients.
Garnish, if desired and enjoy!
